Community Youth Art

Redemption Art aims to be a tool to bridge people of different cultures, races, socioeconomic statuses, religions, backgrounds, and ages. Redemption Art fulfills these values through its work with youth here and abroad, specifically through youth mural projects for their community.

Youth creating murals for their community—whether in Myrtle Beach or in Haiti—is not only a way for them to serve and better the place they live, but it is also a way for them to gain self-worth and to feel valued by those they live among.

The concepts and the ideas represented in a mural come from the youth and the community themselves through brainstorming and critical thinking. You can see The Quincy Street Youth Mural Project in Dorchester, MA by clicking here. Below you can see other examples of mural projects done with youth from Waccamaw Youth Center (www.waccamawyouthcenter.org) and with youth in Haiti (www.redemptionart.blogspot.com).
